CBP Assistant Commissioner for the Office of International Trade Allen Gina will be speaking at a Customs and International Trade Bar Association event on July 31 in Washington, DC. His office recently reorganized itself to better address trade priorities and began implementing full enforcement of importer security filing requirements.
As Congress considers legislation to enhance CBP’s ability to combat trade remedy order circumvention, the agency has been proactive and successful on this front – demonstrated by last month’s arrests and indictments for transshipping Chinese aluminum extrusions through Malaysia to evade antidumping and countervailing duties. Mr. Gina’s CITBA discussion is free, but attendees must RSVP ahead of time.
